My name is Joanne Angwyn, and I write short stories for the quiet and the brave. Stories about what it feels like to be a woman in a world that seems determined to erase you. About silence, vanishing, and finding your way back… home. I’ve been trying to write for more than ten years. Like so many, I was afraid of my own voice. I’m a bit rough around the edges and I don’t handle a pen or the finer details of the English language all that well. I let all the feelings of being too much or not enough keep me quiet. But the stories wouldn’t stay quiet. My work sits somewhere between memory and imagination. It’s creative nonfiction about the human condition — what it costs, what it gives, and what it takes away.
